Adinkra Glass
One style of artwork I draw heavy inspiration from is the Akan people’s Adinkra symbols. Adinkra symbols take a form similar to a heirogylphic typography in that they are pictures that represent ideas of wisdom, peace and love, sort of like a visual proverb. In this case the symbols represent endurance, harmony in love, wisdom, strength in humility, knowledge and unity in diversity - if you’re perceptive you might be able to guess which ones are which!

This piece of wall art is a personal piece that currently hangs in my apartment. 16”x12” Glass tiles on acrylic backing.
